Method for cleaning the jetting area of the nozzles in ink jet printers, and device for carrying out the method
Abstract
Abstract To clean the jetting area (5) of the nozzles of ink jet printing equipment, the jetting area (5) is wetted, before or during the movement of the sealing slide, with the cleaning fluid, which consists of an aqueous solution containing at least 40% of ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol or of fluorinated hydrocarbons. For the purpose of increasing the wetting properties and the cleaning action the solution also contains non-ionic surfactants, for example, nonylphenol polyglycol ether or fatty acid polyglycol ethers. To remove the cleaning liquid from the jetting area (5), a rinsing procedure is initiated at the print head (1) of the ink jet printer in which ink emerges from the jetting area (5). <IMAGE>
