Abstract

Abstract A raster scan type printer comprises a memory (14,16,22) for storing a plurality of dot data representing characters to be printed on a printing paper, a memory controller (21) for sequentially reading out one scan data for one scanning operation from the memory in the order of scanning, and a scanner for performing scanning operation each time in response to the one scan data. The memory comprises a first storage section (14) for storing said plural dot data, a second storage section (16,22) for storing a specific one scan data which is read out from the first storage section and then transferred to the scanner for specific one scanning operation. A fresh dot data is stored in the first storage section at the same time the specific one scan data is sent to the scanner.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 125 words
A raster scan type printer comprising storage means for storing a plurality of dot data representing characters to be printed on a printing medium, control means for sequentially reading out one scan data for one scanning operation from said storage means in the order of scanning, and printing means for performing scanning operation each time in response to said one scan data, the improvement in which said storage means comprises a first storage section for storing said plurality of dot data, a second storage section for storing a specific one scan data to be transferred to said printing means for specific one scanning operation, and transfer means for reading out said specific one scan data from said first storage section to said second storage section.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 125 words
A raster scan type printer comprising storage means for storing a plurality of dot data representing characters to be printed on a printing medium, control means for sequentially reading out one scan data for one scanning operation from said storage means in the order of scanning, and printing means for performing scanning operation each time in response to said one scan data, the improvement in which said storage means comprises a first storage section for storing said plurality of dot data, a second storage section for storing a specific one scan data to be transferred to said printing means for specific one scanning operation, and transfer means for reading out said specific one scan data from said first storage section to said second storage section.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 32 words
The printer according to claim 1 wherein said one scan data comprises a print data for printing dots on said printing medium and non-print data located before and after said print data.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 38 words
The printer according to claim 1 or 2 wherein said first storage section is divided into plural row addresses and said one scan data are stored in said first storage section at respective one of said row addresses.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 18 words
The printer according to claim 1, 2 or 3 wherein said storage means comprises a dual port memory.
