Claim 1
Independent Claim
89 words
A method of preventing and removing, at an early stage, unacceptable wheel spin and subsequent lateral sliding of vehicles while continuously watching and upon need reducing the torque, that the motor exhibits at each moment, by blocking the fuel supply to one or more cylinders of the motor without influencing the optimum fuel/air relationship, characterized in - observing the skidding of the vehicle wheels as known per se, - in case an unacceptable skidding is observed, completely inhibiting the fuel supply to one or more cylinders of the motor.
Claim 2
Independent Claim
89 words
A method of preventing and removing, at an early stage, unacceptable wheel spin and subsequent lateral sliding of vehicles while continuously watching and upon need reducing the torque, that the motor exhibits at each moment, by blocking the fuel supply to one or more cylinders of the motor without influencing the optimum fuel/air relationship, characterized in - observing the skidding of the vehicle wheels as known per se, - in case an unacceptable skidding is observed, completely inhibiting the fuel supply to one or more cylinders of the motor.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
28 words
A method according to claim 1, characterized in completely inhibiting the fuel supply to an increasing number of cylinders until the unacceptably great skidding is caused to cease.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
84 words
A method according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in defining, in a system (13) for controlling the fuel injection, a constant chain of combustions including a predetermined number of successive part-combustions for the motor and in inhibiting, when the vehicle wheels are skidding, first one, and then a successively increasing number of part-combustions in the chain of combustion, corresponding to the combustions in some specificly defined cylinders of the motor, until the skidding has ceased or has been reduced to an allowable level.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
39 words
A method according to claim 3, characterized in that the selecting the part-combustions to be inhibited such as to be as evenly distributed as possible within the chain of combustions and during the increasing number of inhibited part combustions.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
45 words
A method according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in including a number of at least four or preferably more than ten part-combustions in the chain of combustion, which number can be the same as or another than the number of cylinders of the motor.
Claim 7
Independent Claim
45 words
A method according to any of claims 3-5, characterized in proceeding the inhibiting of part-combustions in the combustion chain until 70% at most of the fuel supply of the combustion chain has become inhibited and indepently of the throttle set of the motor. (Figure 3)
Claim 8
Independent Claim
63 words
A method according to any of the preceding claims in a motor having injection valves (5) for injecting fuel and having inlet and exhaust valves, characterized in that the inhibiting of the fuel supply is made in that the actual injection valve (5) is closed synchronously with the closing of the inlet valve of the equivalent cylinder in the just preceding combustion process.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
50 words
Method according to claim 7, characterized in blocking (in 14) a lambda probe signal (B) which for inbited combustions indicates that there is a too high oxygen content in the exhaust gases, and in simulating a correct signal and transmitting same to the ordinary injection system (4) of the motor.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
253 words
Apparatus for executing the method according to any of the preceding claims in a motor having a fuel injection system (4) comprising fuel injection valves (4), characterized by a calculation and control means (13) connected between the fuel injection system (4) and the fuel injection valves (5), which means comprises the combination of the following electronic means, known per se: - means for observing spinning of wheels by indicating different speeds of the driving wheels and the idle running wheels (A); - means for receiving and transmitting or blocking resp. a fuel injection signal from the fuel injection system (D); - means for receiving and coordinating a synchronization signal from the fuel injection system for a particular position of the ignition order (E); - means for receiving and coordinating a reference signal for each combustion (rotation speed signal) from the fuel injection system (F); - means for receiving and, for one or more inhibited part-combustions, blocking a lambda signal from the exhaust gases (10) to the injection system (C), and for calculating and for emitting, as output signals, an output opening signal to each fuel injection valve (5) in case said valve is to be opened, or during one or more complete part-combustions for blocking the equivalent signal of the fuel injection system (4) in case there is a wheel spin and consequently one or more fuel injection valves (5) are to be blocked, and an output signal to the fuel injection system (4) which simulates a lambda signal indicating optimum fuel/air mixture.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim
69 words
Apparatus according to claim 9, characterized in that the calculation and control system (13) comprises an electronic means defining a chain of combustions including a number of, preferably at least four, part-combustions, in which chain of combustions one or a successively increasing number of part-combustions of the combustion chain is/are inhibited in case tje wheels are spinning and until the spinning has become restricted to an acceptable spinning level.
