Abstract

Abstract A recordable disc previously provided with absolute addresses, such as a recordable and reproducible compact disc, has data such as performance information recorded in a programme area (6) thereof and archival (TOC) information indicative of the recorded contents of the programme area recorded in a lead-in area (7) thereof, whereby the programme area can be reproduced on the basis of the archival information recorded in the lead-in area. In recording and/or reproducing apparatus for such a disc, the archival information is reproduced from the lead-in area and stored in a memory (19), the sequence of the stored archival information is changed (44), and the information of changed sequence is re-recorded in the lead-in area (7).

Claim 2
Dependent Claim 163 words
A disc recording and/or reproducing apparatus for a recordable disc (1) which is previously provided with absolute addresses, and which has a programme area (6) in which data such as performance information is recorded and a lead-in area (7) in which archival information indicative of the recorded contents of the programme area (6) is recorded whereby the programme area can be reproduced on the basis of the archival information recorded in the lead-in area (7), the apparatus comprising archival information storage means (19) for storing archival information reproduced from the lead-in area (7), change control means (44) for optionally changing the sequence of the archival information stored in the archival information storage means (19), operating input means (40, 28) for commanding the sequence of the archival information, and recording means (17, 12) for reading the archival information, the sequence of which has been changed, from the archival information storage means (19) for re-recording in the lead-in area (7) of the recordable disc (1).
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 51 words
Apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the change control means (44) is provided with means for automatically allotting numbers, consecutive to the maximum number of archival information commanded to be changed by the operating input means (40, 28), to archival information not commanded to be changed by the operating input means.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 30 words
Apparatus according to claim 1, comprising means (29) for displaying selection of an operating mode enabling changing of the sequence of the archival information by the change control means (44).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 37 words
Apparatus according to claim 1, comprising means (29) for displaying a number (TNOb) to be changed by changing the sequence of the archival information by the change control means (44), in addition to the new number (TNOa).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 44 words
Apparatus according to claim 2, comprising record control means (17) for sensing a state of absence of data to be inputted and recorded in the programme area (6) and automatically recording archival information indicating the sequence of information units recorded in the programme area.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 67 words
Apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the change control means (44) includes correction processing means for correcting the archival information stored in the archival information storage means (19) on receipt of an operating input by the operating input means (40, 28) during reproduction of the programme area (6) so that the information unit being reproduced is corrected so as to be consecutive to the preceding information unit.
Claim 8
Independent Claim 126 words
A method of recording on or reproducing from a recordable disc (1) which is previously provided with absolute addresses, and which has a programme area (6) in which data such as performance information is recorded and a lead-in area (7) in which archival information indicative of the recorded contents of the programme area (6) is recorded whereby the programme area (6) can be reproduced on the basis of the archival information recorded in the lead-in area (7), wherein archival information reproduced from the lead-in area (7) is stored, the sequence of units of the archival information is optionally changed and then re-recorded in the lead-in area (7), and the programme area (6) is reproduced on the basis of the archival information in the lead-in area (7).
Claim 9
Independent Claim 126 words
