Disinfecting and cleaning product for the care of contact lenses

Abstract

Abstract A contact lens care product having a disinfecting action contains chlorine-liberating compounds and is characterised in that, for combination with a cleaning action, contains a) a chlorine-liberating compound and from 0.5 to 100 ppm of available chlorine in the ready-to-use solution, b) one or more proteases and has a proteolytic activity of from 1 to 1000 U in the ready-to-use solution, and c) conventional formulation assistants, and is used in a method for the care of contact lenses which involves treatment with chlorine- liberating compounds, the commencement of the action of the enzymes being delayed with respect to the commencement of the action of the chlorine-liberating compound.
