Abstract

Abstract A paper-feeding device(3b,105) which is substantially comprised of a paper-feeding cassette(C3,C8) removably loaded into an image processing apparatus(1,101), locking means (70,114) inhibitting extraction of the paper-feeding cassette(C3,C8) by eagaging itself with the cassette(C3,C8) or the cassette mount(61,113), and locking control means (80,116) activating operation of the locking means (70,114) while paper-feeding operation is underway. Since the locking control means (80,116) remains activated while the paper-feeding operation is underway, the operator cannot extract the paper-feeding cassette(C3,C8) from the image processing apparatus(1) throughout the paper-feeding operation. Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 59 words
A paper-feeding device comprising; a paper-feeding cassette which can removably be loaded into an image processing apparatus; locking means preventing said paper-feeding cassette from being drawn out of said image processing apparatus by engaging itself with either said paper-feeding cassette or a paper-feeding cassette mount; and locking-control means which is operating said locking means while paper-feeding operation is underway.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 59 words
A paper-feeding device comprising; a paper-feeding cassette which can removably be loaded into an image processing apparatus; locking means preventing said paper-feeding cassette from being drawn out of said image processing apparatus by engaging itself with either said paper-feeding cassette or a paper-feeding cassette mount; and locking-control means which is operating said locking means while paper-feeding operation is underway.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 23 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 1, wherein said paper-feeding cassette is extracted in the direction 90 degrees apart from the paper-conveying direction.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 56 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 1, wherein said locking means comprises a stopper inhibiting extraction of said paper-feeding cassette by allowing said locking means to be engaged with either said paper-feeding cassette or said cassette mount, and an engaging member secured to either said paper-feeding cassette or said cassette mount for engagement with said stopper.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 29 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 1, wherein said locking-control means activates the operation of said locking means when the copying paper jams up itself in a paper-feeding path.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 46 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 4, wherein said locking-control means activates the operation of said locking means when the copying paper does not pass through the predetermined position during a specific period of time from the startup of the paper delivery from. said paper-feeding cassette.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 31 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 4, wherein said locking-control means releases said locking means from operative condition by either opening or closing a predetermined cover of said image processing apparatus.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 22 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 1, wherein said paper-feeding cassette is substantially an insertion tray of a duplex image processing apparatus.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 68 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 1, wherein an objective member to be detected is installed to a tip surface of said paper-feeding cassette or said cassette mount, and in addition, said image processing apparatus is provided with a detecting device detecting the presence of said objective member when said cassette or said cassette mount is fully inserted into a predetermined position inside of said image processing apparatus.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 65 words
A paper-feeding device according to claim 1, wherein a detecting device is installed to a tip surface of said paper-feeding cassette or said cassette mount, and in addition said image processing apparatus is provided with an objective member to be detected by said detecting device when said cassette or said cassette mount is fully inserted into a predetermined position inside of said image processing apparatus.
