Abstract

Abstract An X-ray image of an object 5 is projected on an image receiver 6 made of two-dimensionally arranged picture elements 6a, or in an alternative an image intensifier. A collimator or mask 2 produces a plurality of thin X-ray beams 3 which pass through openings 2a and are scanned over the image by the collimator displacer 11. Multiple beams scanning simultaneously give rapid coverage of the image. The maximum values of the outputs from the picture elements 6a are selected and stored in memory 9 for display at 12. The adverse effects of stray scattered X-rays from the object are thus reduced to provide a high-contrast image.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 115 words
An X-ray image detecting means comprising: an X-ray source (1); a collimator plate (2) placed between said X-ray source (1) and an objective (5) whose X-ray image is to be detected, said collimator plate (2) being provided with two-dimensionally arrayed X-ray collimating through holes (2a); an X-ray image receiving means (6; 26, 27) devised so that an image signal representing an X-ray image projected thereon may be outputted in the form of electric picture-element signals; a collimator plate displacing means (11) for moving said collimator plate (2) two-dimensionally in parallel to said X-ray image receiving means (6; 26, 27); and a memory (9) for storing the maximum value of each of said electric picture-element signals.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 115 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 37 words
An apparatus defined in Claim 1, wherein said X-ray image receiving means (6; 26, 27) is constituted with an X-ray image receiving plane (6) made up of a two-dimensional array of picture-element constituting unit X-ray detectors (6a).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 72 words
An apparatus defined in Claim 1, wherein said X-ray image receiving means (6; 26, 27) consists of an assembly of an X-ray image intensifiers (26) and a TV camera (27) optically coupled to said X-ray image intensifier (26), and wherein the electron beam scanning in said TV camera is performed intermittently so as to make said TV camera output an X-ray image signal in the form of a series of picture-element signals.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
An apparatus defined in Claim 2, wherein said picture-element constituting unit X-ray detectors are elements capable of directly converting X-rays to electric signals.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 30 words
An apparatus defined in Claim 2 wherein each of said picture-element constituting unit X-ray detectors is a combination of an X-ray scintillator and a photosensor coupled to said X-ray scintillator.
