353 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus comprising a light source (10), means for holding a negative colour film (18) and means for holding a photographic paper (24), in which light from the light source (10) which undergoes a light adjustment conducted by an automatic exposure control device (26) of the automatic photographic printing apparatus is irradiated onto the negative colour film (18), and said photographic paper (24) is exposed to the light transmitted through the negative film (18) so as to form an image thereon, the automatic photographic printing apparatus further comprising: a light source adjusting filter (14) having filters of three respective colours wherein said exposure control device (26) controls the light adjusting filter so as to adjust the colour balance; a camera (30) disposed on the light transmitting side of the negative colour film (18) for imaging the negative colour film (18) while the negative colour film is being illuminated by the light source (10) under the light adjustment; a simulator (34) including a display device (345) for displaying the image of the negative colour film (18) produced by the camera as a positive image; wherein said simulator includes an image information processing unit (341, 342, 343, 344) disposed between the camera and the display device for converting the output of the camera in such a manner that the image displayed on the display device has the same colouring characteristics as those of the photographic paper, characterised in that the exposure control device (26) controls the amount of the light irradiated from the light source (10), wherein the light having passed through said light adjusting filter is used for exposure onto the photographic paper (24) and for obtaining the image via the camera; and in that, said camera (30) further comprises a filter (31A) having absorption and transmittance characteristics such that it changes the peak wavelength of red light in the output of the camera (30) toward the longer wavelength side by which the chromaticity of the positive image displayed on the display device (345) becomes closer to that of the image in the print copy obtained from the exposed photographic paper.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
30 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said filter (31A) absorbs to a great extent light having a wavelength of about 500 nm or about 600 nm.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
31 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 2, wherein said filter (31A) has a transmittance of 10% or less to light having a wavelength between 580 nm and 630 nm.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
140 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 1, further including: a chromaticity meter (44) for measuring the chromaticity of a reference print which is prepared by exposing under a fixed state of said light source (10) the image of a reference negative colour film having a plurality of different reference colours onto the photographic paper and by developing that exposed photographic paper, as well as the chromaticity of the image in said reference negative colour film which is displayed on said display device; and a parameter operating means (46, 48, 50, 52) for calculating the values of parameters at which the sum of distances in the chromaticity diagram between the chromaticities of respective reference colours of the image in said reference print and the chromaticities of corresponding respective reference colours of the image on said display device is minimized.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
45 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said parameter operation means is constituted so as to perform weighting on at least one certain particular reference colour, and then calculate the values of parameters at which the sum of said distances is minimized.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
30 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said chromaticity meter (44) is constituted so as to perform measurement at the monochromatic colouring of red, green or blue.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
108 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 1, further including: a measuring device (32) for measuring the colouring characteristics of the reference print obtained by exposing a reference negative film on the photographic paper and by developing that photographic paper; operating means (40, 63) for performing calculation by optimization with the objective value set at the amount of colouring of said reference print; and correcting means (26) for correcting the parameters of said simulator (34) on the basis of the results of the calculation of said operating means such that the positive image displayed on said display device substantially matches the positive image in said reference print.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
17 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said display device (345) is a CRT.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
123 words
An automatic photographic printing apparatus according to claim 8 wherein said image information processing unit includes a logarithmic conversion means (341) for logarithmically converting the signals output from said camera, a 3 x 2 matrix means (342) for correcting the differences between the density viewed with the spectral sensitivity of the camera and that viewed with the spectral sensitivity of the photographic paper, a negative/positive inversion means (343) for converting the density of the negative to the analytic density of the photographic paper by the negative/positive inversion, and a luminance signal conversion means (344) for converting the analytic density of the photographic paper to the illuminant luminance of each colour of fluorescent substance of said CRT and outputting the results to said CRT.
