Abstract
Abstract A power source control system is disclosed for a data terminal (4) which is connected to a communication line (l) through a modem (3) and a network control unit (2). A power source control unit is provided between the modem (3) and the data terminal (4) while interface between the modem (3) and the data terminal (4) is maintained so that when an incoming call to the data terminal is received and detected, a line establishing procedure is immediately executed with respect to the calling party in place of the data terminal (4), and a main power source of the data terminal is turned ON, making the data terminal (4) ready for a communication operation.

A power source control system comprising a power source control unit provided between a data terminal and a modem connected to a communication line, said power source control unit comprising: a protocol control circuit for maintaining interface between the modem and the data terminal, for immediately performing a line establishing prodecure including the sending out of a carrier in response to an incomming call from the modem, and for receiving a carrier from a calling party; and a power source control unit for the turning ON of the application of power source to the data terminal in response to any timing of said line establishing procedure and said receiving of the carrier from the calling party.
