Abstract

Abstract The decorative plastics laminate comprises a plurality of superposed translucent sheets constituted by 60 to 100% of alpha-cellulose and 0 to 40% of rayon fibres, impregnated with a thermosetting amino resin and bonded together by pressure and heat. Together with the characteristics of resistance to abrasion, water, impacts and chemical reagents, the laminate has a particular decorative effect obtained by virtue of the transparency of the cellulose sheets used.

Plastics laminate according to Claim 5, characterised in that the overlay has a substance of 20 to 40 g/m².
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 40 words
Plastics laminate according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that it includes at least one decorative sheet which is solid-coloured or printed by rotogravure, silk-screening or offset printing, and is interposed between the substantially translucent sheets.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 21 words
Decorative plastics laminate according to Claim 7, characterised in that the decorative sheet has a substance of 60 to 160 g/m².
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 24 words
Plastics laminate according to any of Claims 1 to 4 characterized in that it is constituted by a pack of said substantially translucent sheets.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 73 words
Method for the manufacture of decorative plastics laminates, in which a plurality of cellulose-based sheets impregnated with dried thermosetting resin are stacked and subjected to pressure and heat to bind the sheets together, characterised in that a plurality of translucent sheets are used which are constituted by 60 to 100% by weight of alpha-cellulose and from 0 to 40% by weight of rayon fibres, the sheets being impregnated with a thermosetting amino resin.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 73 words
Method for the manufacture of decorative plastics laminates, in which a plurality of cellulose-based sheets impregnated with dried thermosetting resin are stacked and subjected to pressure and heat to bind the sheets together, characterised in that a plurality of translucent sheets are used which are constituted by 60 to 100% by weight of alpha-cellulose and from 0 to 40% by weight of rayon fibres, the sheets being impregnated with a thermosetting amino resin.
Claim 13

Claim 14
Dependent Claim 53 words
Method according to Claim 10 or 11, characterised in that the impregnation and subsequent drying are carried out so as to obtain a resin content of from 40 to 70% by weight, a content of volatile substances of from 4 to 7% of weight, and a flow of from 2 to 20% wt.
Claim 15
Dependent Claim 42 words
Method according to any one of Claims 10 to 12, characterised in that the stacked sheets are subjected to a pressure of from 50 to 100 bars and a temperature of from 120 to 160°C to cause cross-linking of the impregnating resins.
Claim 16
