Method of applying an abradable coating to endoarticulated prostheses

Abstract Translated from German Um bei einem Verfahren zum Aufbringen einer Schutzschicht aus TiO₂, Al₂O₃, ZrO₂ oder Cr₂O₃ auf Gleitflächen von Gelenkendoprothesen aus Titan oder Titanlegierungen eine besonders kompakte und dicke Schutzschicht erzeugen zu können, wird vorgeschlagen, daß man die zu beschichtenden Gleitflächen in einem Vakuum anordnet und auf ihnen die pulverförmigen, in einem heißen, ionisierten Gasstrom (Plasma) aufgeheizten und dadruch an- oder aufgeschmolzene Beschich­tungsmaterialien ablagert.
