Abstract
Abstract A toner for developing electrostatic latent images containing 0.5 to 5 parts by weight of a salt forming compound represented by the formula wherein R₁ is C₁- C₈ alkyl or benzyl, R₂ and R₃ are each C₁- C₁₈ alkyl, R₄ is C₁- C₁₈ alkyl or benzyl, X is hydroxyl or amino, and Y is hydroxyl or hydrogen and is not hydrogen when X is hydroxyl, and 100 parts by weight of a resin. The invention also relates to the use of the toner for color electrophotography. The toner provides the advantage of retaining its chargeability over a long period of time.
