Le polymère selon l'invention répond à la formule chimique générale suivante: <IMAGE> x indiquant le degré de polymérisation et 4 <= n <= 15. The invention relates to a family of homopolymers with side chains of the polyacrylate type derived from 3 fluoro 4 cyanophenol and having a mesophase of nematic or smectic type A. The polymer according to the invention corresponds to the following general chemical formula: <IMAGE> x indicating the degree of polymerization and 4 <= n <= 15.
