Abstract

Abstract A system for transferring a multi-element data to a first active component from a second passive component, wherein the first component comprises: means (4) for transmitting pulses to the second component, and means (12) for receiving pulses from the second component representative of elements of the data and for reconstituting the data therefrom, the second component comprises: means for receiving pulses from the first component, and means (14) for energising the second component in response to each received pulse from the energy therein and for transmitting (26) to the first component in response to each pulse received therefrom a pulse indicative of an element of the data, and wherein the second component transmits its pulses to the first component in the times between the first component transmitting its pulses to the second component.

Total Claims: 8
Claim 1
Independent Claim 129 words
A system for transferring a multi-element data to a first active component from a second passive component, wherein the first component comprises: means for transmitting pulses to the second component, and means for receiving pulses from the second component representative of elements of the data and for reconstituting the data therefrom, the second component comprises: means for receiving pulses from the first component, and means for energising the second component in response to each received pulse from the energy therein and for transmitting to the first component in response to each pulse received therefrom a pulse indicative of an element of the data, and wherein the second component transmits its pulses to the first component in the times between the first component transmitting its pulses to the second component.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 13 words
A system as claimed in claim 1 wherein the pulses are electromagnetic pulses.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 25 words
A system as claimed in claim 1 or 2 wherein the pulses transmitted by the active and passive components are of substantially the same frequency.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 14 words
A system as claimed in claim 3 wherein the frequency is approximately 1 MHz.
Claim 6
Independent Claim 12 words
A system substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Claim 7
Independent Claim 12 words
A system substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 13 words
A passive component for use in a system according to any preceding claim.
