Abstract

Abstract A laser exposure system for use in scanning and recording images, the system comprising subdividing the laser beam from the laser source (1) into several parallel traces of laser beams; modulating the laser beams individually in response to the image signals by means of a multi-channel optical modulator (7); directing the modulated laser beams through a first mirror (9a) and a second mirror (9b) so as to enable the laser beams from the second mirror (9b) to be in parallel with the reference plane with respect to the sub-scanning direction; varying the distance between the modulator (7) and the first mirror (9a); and adjusting the angles of the first and second mirrors to the reference plane so that a possible decline of the laser beams in the sub-scanning direction is compensated.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 7
Claim 1
Independent Claim 113 words
A laser exposure apparatus for use in scanning and recording images, the apparatus comprising: a source of laser; a laser beam splitter for subdividing the laser beam from the source into several parallel traces of laser beams; a multi-channel optical modulator for modulating the laser beams individually in response to the image signals; a first and a second reflecting mirrors for directing the laser beams modulated by the modulator; and an image-forming optical system for throwing the laser beams from the second mirror on a recording plane, the image-forming optical system comprising a telecentric optical unit, thereby ensuring that the main trace of each laser beam is in parallel with the optical axis.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 113 words
Claim 3
Independent Claim 16 words
An apparatus as defined in claim l, wherein the image-forming optical system includes a zoom lens.
Claim 4
Independent Claim 27 words
An apparatus as defined in claims l or 2, wherein the multi-channel optical modulator is adjustable in the direction in which the laser beams received therein advance.
Claim 5
Independent Claim 26 words
An apparatus as defined in claims l or 2, wherein the first and second mirrors are adjustable with respect to their angles to the reference plane.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 125 words
A laser exposure system for use in scanning and recording images, the system comprising: subdividing the laser beam from the laser source into several parallel traces of laser beams; modulating the laser beams individually in response to the image signals by means of a multi-channel optical modulator; directing the modulated laser beams through a first mirror and a second mirror so as to enable the laser beams from the second mirror to be in parallel with the reference plane with respect to the sub-scanning direction, and varying the distance between the modulator and the first mirror; and adjusting the angles of the first and second mirrors to the reference plane so that a possible decline of the laser beams in the sub-scanning direction is compensated.
