Abstract
Abstract A process which comprises contacting the surface of a metal with an alkyl or acyl substituted catechol. The contacting may be effected using the substituted catechol alone or in a suitable medium for example as a solution or emulsion. The contacting is effective in provided corrosion inhibition even with lightly rusted iron surfaces.
