Abstract

Abstract A tissue sampling device with a needle assembly (l) comprising a hollow outer needle (2) and an inner needle (3) slidably provided within the outer needle, said inner needle being provided with a hollow (3b) near its point for receiving a tissue sample, said device further comprising a housing (5), in which the needle assembly (l) is insertable, a propelling device (9) for propelling the inner needle (3), a propelling device (8) for propelling the outer neddle (2), and a release mechanism (l8) operable from the outside of the housing, and adapted to release said propelling devices, whereby propelling device is provided with at least one biassable spring mechanism, whereby the bias force comprises the driving force of the propelling means. The device is characterized by an energizing device, operable from the outside of the housing, said energizing device biassing the spring mechanisms (8, 9) of the propelling devices simultaneously.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 143 words
Tissue sampling device comprising a needle assembly (l) with a hollow outer needle (2) and an inner needle (3) slidably provided therewithin, said inner needle being provided with a hollow (3b) near its point for receiving a tissue sample, said device further comprising a housing (5), in which the needle assembly (l) is insertable, a propelling device (9) for propelling the inner needle (3), a propelling device (8) for propelling the outher needle (2), and a relese mechanism (l8) operable from the outside of the housing, and adapted to release said propelling devices, whereby propelling device is provided with at least one biassable spring mechanism, whereby the bias force comprises the driving force of the propelling means, characterized by an energizing device, operable from the outside of the housing, said energizing device biassing the spring mechanisms (8, 9) of the propelling devices simultaneously.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 143 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 79 words
Device according to claim l, characterized in that each propelling device comprises a slide (6, 7) slideable in the longitudinal direction of the housing (5), said slides each being adapted to receive one needle (2, 3) of the needle assembly (l), and in that the energizing device comprises at least one in the longitudinal direction of the housing displaceable energizing rod (23), said rod being engageable with both slides (6, 7) simultaneously while biassing respective spring mechanism (8, 9).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 51 words
Device according to claim 2, characterized in that each slide (6, 7) is slideably supported on at least one in the longitudinal direction of the housing (5) provided and in the housing mounted guiding rod (l0a, l0b) and preferably on two parallel, on each side of the slides placed guiding rods.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 35 words
Device according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that the spring mechanism of each propelling device comprises at least one spring (8, 9), acting between the respective slides (6, 7) and the housing (5).
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 39 words
Device according to claim 4, characterized in that said springs are coil springs, being arranged around said guiding rods (l0a, l0b), and acting between said slides (6, 7) and the corresponding fixed buckers (l2, l3) in the housing (5).
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 43 words
Device according to either of claims 2-5, characterized in that the energizing device is provided with a return spring (28), moving the energizing rod (23) back to its initial position after the biassing of the spring mechanisms (8, 9) has been carried out.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 47 words
Device according to one of the preceeding claims, characterized by a locking device (29-34), operable from the outside of the housing, and being switchable between a first position in which it locks the release device (l8), and a second position in which it unlocks the release device.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 56 words
Device according to either of claims 2-7, characterized in that at lest one of said slides (6, 7) is provided with a guide pin 22 provided in the longitudinal direction of the housing (5), and cooperating with a slit in one of the needles (2, 3) of the needle assembly, for preventing rotation of the needle.
