Abstract

Abstract In an all-weather type pavement marking sheet material, glass microspheres having refractive index of 1.5 - 1.9 (A) and glass microspheres having refractive index of 2.0 - 2.4 (B) are embedded mixedly and at least partially in a portion of a base sheet (1) made of rubber, synthetic resin or the like. This portion (S) is formed at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet or continuously in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet in a part of the base sheet as viewed in the transverse direction of the base sheet. The pavement marking sheet material has an excellent visibility during night and particularly when it is raining.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 10
Claim 1
Independent Claim 93 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material comprising: a base sheet made of rubber, synthetic resin or the like; and glass microspheres having refractive index of 1.5 - 1.9 and glass microspheres having refractive index of 2.0 - 2.4 embedded mixedly and at least partially in a portion of the base sheet, said portion being formed at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet or continuously in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet in a part of the base sheet as viewed in the transverse direction of the base sheet.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 93 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material comprising: a base sheet made of rubber, synthetic resin or the like; and glass microspheres having refractive index of 1.5 - 1.9 and glass microspheres having refractive index of 2.0 - 2.4 embedded mixedly and at least partially in a portion of the base sheet, said portion being formed at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet or continuously in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet in a part of the base sheet as viewed in the transverse direction of the base sheet.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 53 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein the glass microspheres having refractive index of 1.5 - 1.9 are of a diameter of 50 µm - 1,000 µm and the glass microspheres having refractive index of 2.0 - 2.4 are of a diameter of 50µm - 350 µm.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 78 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein the glass microspheres having refractive index of 1.5 - 1.9 are dispersed over 30% - 40% of the area of a flat sheet before embossing and the glass microspheres having refractive index of 2.0 -2.4 are dispersed over 50% - 85% of the area of the flat sheet before embossing remaining after the glass microspheres having refractive index of 1.5 - 1.9 have been dispersed.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 32 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein the base sheet is composed of a base layer and a thin colored layer provided on the base layer.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 99 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein the base sheet is formed on the surface thereof with a continuous pattern of a multiplicity of protuberances and depressions and the glass microspheres in said portion of the base sheet are embedded in these protuberances and depressions in such a manner that a depth of embedding of these glass microspheres in the base sheet from the surface is randomly different one from another and a majority of the glass microspheres in these protuberances and depressions are partially exposed from the surface of the base sheet.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 40 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein said portion of the base sheet is provided in the form of a belt-like section extending normally with respect to the longitudinal direction of the base sheet.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 40 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein said portion of the base sheet is provided in the form of a belt-like section extending obliquely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the base sheet.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 36 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein said portion of the base sheet is provided in the form of a broken line in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 54 words
An all-weather type pavement marking sheet material as defined in claim 1 wherein said portion of the base sheet is provided in the form of a belt extending continuously in the longitudinal direction of the base sheet in a part of the base sheet as viewed in the transverse direction of the base sheet.
