Abstract Translated from German Bei einer tragbaren Motorkettensäge mit einer Reibungsbremse zum Abbremsen der Sägekette (37) die mit einem beim Auftreten eines bedrohlichen Zustandes ansprechenden Fühlers in Form eines bei einer Schleuderbewegung der Säge mit einer Hand (24) der Bedienungsperson in Berührung kommenden Schwenkbügels (22) durch dessen Bewegung eine Reibungsbremse wirksam wird, wobei zwischen dem Antriebsmotor (13) und der Sägekette (37) eine Kupplung (33) vorgesehen ist, wird zur Stillsetzung der Sägekette (37) in kürzester Zeit bei einer Gefahrensituation vorgeschlagen, daß als Kupplung eine Schlingfederkupplung (33) vorgesehen ist und daß diese Schlingfederkupplung (33) zugleich auch als Reibungsbremse für die Sägekette (37) dient. Durch die Kupplungs-Brems-Kombination sind die abzubremsenden Massen optimal gering.
