Abstract

Abstract A multiple display system is adapted to display data in the VIDEOTEX standard on a display formed of a plurality of display devices. The system comprises an encoder (l,2) for generating a code on the basis of internal or external data supplied thereto, a plurality of decoders (3A to 3I), each of which includes a central processing unit, successively arranged in series with respect to the encoder, and a plurality of display devices (4A to 4I) provided respectively corresponding to the plurality of decoders to thereby display a large image by the plurality of display devices. The encoder inserts an identification number in a predetermined portion of a data sequence. The plurality of decoders respectively select data with corresponding identification number, convert the selected data into a video signal, and supply respective display devices with the video signal.

Claim 1
Independent Claim 150 words
A multiple display system adapted to display data in a VIDEOTEX standard on a display formed of a plurality of display devices as a single picture screen, said multiple display system comprising: encoder means (1,2) for generating a code on the basis of internal or external data supplied thereto; a plurality of decoding means(3A to 3I) successively arranged in series with respect to said encoder means; a plurality of display devices (4A to 4I) provided respectively corresponding to said plurality of decoding means; and means (in 1,2) for setting an identification number to each of said plurality of decoding means, wherein said encoder means inserts an identification number in a predetermined portion of a data sequence, said plurality of decoding means respectively extract data with corresponding identification numbers from said data sequence supplied thereto convert the extracted data into video signals, and supply said display devices with said video signals.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 150 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 49 words
A multiple display system according to claim l, in which said encoder means supply said plurality of decoding means with a synchronizing control signal, whereby a signal processing in each of said plurality of decoding means is synchronized with one another to display a plurality of images in synchronism.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 42 words
A multiple dispaly system according to claim 2, in which between adjacent ones of at least said plurality of decoding means, when a next decoding means becomes in an overflow state, it generates a transmission stop signal for a forward decoding means.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 72 words
A multiple display system according to claim 2, in which after said encoder means converts coordinates of an origanal data into predetermined enlarged coordinates informations corresponding to said plurality of decoding means, said encoder means encodes said enlarged coordinates informations, and supplies said encoded enlarged coordinates informations to said plurality of decoding means, respectively, to thereby effect an enlarged display by the use of respective display devices corresponding to said decoding means.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 64 words
A multiple display system according to claim 4, in which said encoder means calculate certain position coordinates and on the basis of said position coordinates, calculates enlarged coordinates corresponding to said plurality of decoder means, and said enlarged coordinates are shifted in a predetermined direction by a predetermined amount on screens of said plurality of display devices corresponding to said plurality of decoding means.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 47 words
A multiple display system according to claim l, in which setting means of said identification number set an identification number set by the forward decoding means to an identification number for the next decoding means on the basis of the identification number transmitted from said encoder means.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 48 words
A multiple display system according to claim 6, in which the most forward decoding means receives the identification number from said encoder means to be initially set, increments said identification number to form a new identification number, and transmits said identification number incremented to the next decoding means.
