Abstract
Abstract A photoreceptor cartridge unit (K, K′) having a cartridge frame (6) made of plastic on which a photoreceptor drum (1) acting as a rotary member and its peripheral components (2, 3) are integrally mounted. The cartridge frame (6) is formed with a plurality of bearing portions (23-28) for supporting the rotary member (1) and a plurality of positioning projections (40-43) and is split, at the bearing portions (23-28), into two frame portions (6a, 6b) provided with an engageable portion (60a) and a receiver portion (60b), respectively. The peripheral components (2, 3) are formed with a plurality of positioning holes (44-47) so as to be mounted on the cartridge frame (6) through engagement of the positioning projections (40-43) with the positioning holes (44-47). The two frame portions (6a, 6b) are coupled with each other through engagement of the engageable portion (60a) with the receiver portion (60b).

In a photoreceptor cartridge unit (K; K′) for use in an image forming apparatus having an apparatus housing (8), said photoreceptor cartridge unit (K; K′) being detachably mounted on said apparatus housing (8) and having a cartridge frame (6) on which a photoreceptor drum (1) and its peripheral components (2, 3) are integrally mounted such that at least said photoreceptor drum (1) is rotatably supported, as a rotary member, by said cartridge frame (6), the improvement comprising: said cartridge frame (6) being made of plastic and being formed with a plurality of bearing portions (23-28) for supporting said rotary member (1); said cartridge frame (6) being split, at said bearing portions (23-28), into two frame portions (6a, 6b); a pair of elastic pieces (24a, 24b, 26a-28a, 26b-28b) which are integrally formed, at each of at least a part (24, 26-28) of said bearing portions (23-28), with said cartridge frame (6) so as to confront each other; a plurality of holes (44-47) for positioning said peripheral components (2, 3), which are formed on said peripheral components (2, 3); a plurality of projections (40-43) for positioning said peripheral components (2, 3), which are formed on said cartridge frame (6) so as to be fitted into said holes (44-47) respectively; said peripheral components (2, 3) being mounted on said cartridge frame (6) by fusion bonding said projections (40-43) to said peripheral components (2, 3) when said projections (40-43) have been fitted into said holes (44-47), respectively; an engageable portion (60a) which is formed at an end portion of one (6a) of said two frame portions (6a, 6b); and a receiver portion (60b) for receiving said engageable portion (60a), which is formed at an end portion of the other one (6b) of said two frame portions (6a, 6b) such that said two frame portions (6a, 6b) are coupled with each other through engagement of said engageable portion (60a) with said receiver portion (60b).
