Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 14
Claim 1
Independent Claim 32 words
An implant lens, characterized in that at least the outer layer thereof consists of substantially water-insoluble, biodegradable and biocompatible material capable of providing a growth zone for the natural eye lens tissue.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 32 words
An implant lens, characterized in that at least the outer layer thereof consists of substantially water-insoluble, biodegradable and biocompatible material capable of providing a growth zone for the natural eye lens tissue.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 20 words
A lens according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises a lens core (1) of a transparent, non-resorbable material.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 32 words
A lens according to claim 2, characterized in that the lens core (1) constitutes the major part of the lens and is covered by a layer (2) of substantially water-insoluble biodegradable material.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 15 words
A lens according to claim 1, characterized in that it entirely consists of biodegradable material.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 32 words
A lens according to claim 4, characterized in that it comprises an envelope (3) of a first, substantially water-insoluble solid biodegradable material enclosing a second, fluid biodegradable material (4), preferably in gel-form.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 28 words
A lens according to any one of claims 1-5, characterized in that the biodegradable material at least in the outer part of the lens is porous, preferably microporous.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 26 words
A lens according to any one of claims 1-6, characterized in that the resorption period of the biodegradable material thereof is at least about four weeks.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 21 words
A lens according to claim 7, characterized in that said resorption period is from about four months to about one year.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 36 words
A method of producing an implant lens according to claim 2, characterized by providing a lens core (1) of a solid transparent, non-resorbable material with a cover (2) of a substantially water-insoluble, biodegradable and biocompatible material.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 47 words
A method of producing an implant lens according to claim 5, characterized by providing an envelope (3) of a first, substantially water-insoluble, biodegradable and biocompatible material and filling it with a second biodegradable material (4) in fluid form, preferably a gel, and then sealing the envelope (3).
Claim 12
Independent Claim 62 words
An apparatus for producing an implant lens, characterized in that it comprises a syringe member (5, 6) for holding a first, fluid lens material (12), an envelope member (11) of a second lens material, communicatively connected thereto, and means for permitting separation of said envelope member (11) after it has been filled with said first material (12) to form said implant lens.
Claim 13
Independent Claim 62 words
An apparatus for producing an implant lens, characterized in that it comprises a syringe member (5, 6) for holding a first, fluid lens material (12), an envelope member (11) of a second lens material, communicatively connected thereto, and means for permitting separation of said envelope member (11) after it has been filled with said first material (12) to form said implant lens.
Claim 14
Dependent Claim 17 words
An apparatus according to claim 11, characterized in that said first and second lens materials are biodegradable.
