Claims Analysis
Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim
108 words
A method for an immunoassay comprising mixing microcapsules having a membrane labeled with the corresponding binding partner to the antigen or antibody to be determined said microcapsules containing a fluid and a fluorescent substance, a sample and a complement causing a reaction capable of lysing the microcapsules by virtue of antigen-antibody reaction, and subjecting the resulting mixture to optical measurement; characterized in that the viscosity of the fluid in said microcapsules is different from that of a liquid outside said microcapsules, said reaction mixture is irradiated with exciting polarized light after the initiation of said microcapsule lysis, and polarization components of fluorescence from said reaction mixture are detected.
Claim 2
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
38 words
The method for an immunoassay according to claim 1, wherein an unreacted liquid containing said microcapsules and sample but not said complement is irradiated with exciting light and polarization components of fluorescence from the unreacted liquid are detected.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
56 words
The method for an immunoassay according to claim 1, wherein after the detection of said polarization components, the degree of polarization fluorescence is calculated on the basis of the vertical-component intensity and the parallel-component intensity, and the concentration of a substance to be assayed is determined based on the value of the degree of polarization fluorescence.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
37 words
The method for an immunoassay according to claim 1, wherein said microcapsules contain a viscosity modifier so as to make the viscosity of the fluid in said microcapsules higher than that of a liquid outside said microcapsules.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
40 words
The method for an immunoassay according to claim 1, wherein a liquid outside said microcapsules contains a viscosity modifier so as to make the viscosity of the fluid in said microcapsules lower than that of the liquid outside said microcapsules.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
28 words
The method for an immunoassay according to claim 4 or 5, wherein said viscosity modifier is a water-soluble organic compound having a viscosity higher than that of water.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim
21 words
The method for an immunoassay according to claim 6, wherein said viscosity modifier is selected from polyvinyl alcohol, glycerin and sucrose.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
75 words
A reagent for an immunoassay comprising a solution containing microcapsules having a membrane labeled with the corresponding binding partner to the antigen or antibody to be determined, a fluorescent substance being contained in said microcapsules and a complement causing a reaction capable of lysing the microcapsules by virtue of antigen-antibody reaction; characterized in that either inside or outside said microcapsules there is contained a viscosity modifier for making the viscosity higher than that of water.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim
