Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 208 words
An IC card system including IC card means (1) and terminal means (2), in which said IC card means (1) is inserted, for performing data communication with said IC card means (1), said IC card means (1) comprising: first memory means (14) for storing programs of a plurality of application services; designating means (1c, 21, 15) for designating one of said application services; power source means (37) for supplying power to an internal circuit of said IC card means (1); and controlling means (1b, 40, 41, 38) for controlling an ON/OFF state of said power source means (37); characterized in that said IC card means (1) further comprises: second memory means (16a) for storing data representing the ON/OFF state of said power source means (37); and that said terminal means (2) comprises: detection means (61) for detecting the ON/OFF state of said power source means (37) of said IC card means (1) when said IC card means is inserted in said terminal means (2); means for processing an application service designated by said designating means according to the ON state detection of said detection means (61); and means for inhibiting the processing of the designated application service according to the OFF state detection of said detection means (61).
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 30 words
A system according to claim 1, characterized in that said IC card means (1) further includes: display means (1e, 35) for indicating the application service designated by said designating means.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 22 words
A system according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that said designating means includes keyboard means (1c) for selecting application service.
Claim 4
Independent Claim 67 words
A system according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said terminal means (2) further includes: means for outputting an initialization signal to said IC card means (1), and said IC card means (1) further includes: means for sending the ON/OFF state data stored in said second memory means (16a) to said terminal means (2) after initializing of said IC card means (1).
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 59 words
A system according to claim 4, characterized in that said IC card system (1) further includes means (36, 39) for switching a power supply for said IC card means (1) from said power source means (31) to a power supply output from said terminal means (2) when said IC card means (1) is inserted in said terminal means (2).
