Biaxially oriented coextruded opaque foil
Abstract
Coextrusion of the melt of a polypropylene base layer and the melt of cover layers gives a multilayer film with a density of less than or equal to 0.75 g / cm 3, at least one of the cover layers applied to the base layer being cold or heat sealable. At least one of the cover layers can be printed well without the need for pretreatment of the multilayer film by corona discharge. The printable top layer consists of a copolyester in the form of polycondensates of terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid and ethylene glycol or butanediol. If only one cover layer consists of a copolyester, the other, opposite cover layer is a heat-sealable polyolefinic sealing raw material.
