Abstract Flaky coloured pigments are obtained by uniformly adhering a finely divided colour pigment onto a flaky substrate by the use of an organic high molecular compound as a binder.

Process for the production of flaky coloured pigments characterized in that a flaky substrate is suspended in a dispersion or a solution of a finely divided colour pigment, the resulting suspension is mixed with a solution of an organic high molecular compound and the colour pigment and the organic high molecular compound are caused to precipitate onto the flaky substrate.
