Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 12
Claim 1
Independent Claim 186 words
A brake control system for a vehicle provided with a four-wheel drive mechanism having a front wheel driving system (2) and a rear wheel driving system (5) adapted to be drivingly connected with and released from each other, respectively, and further provided with an antiskid brake system (14, 15) for controlling the braking effort upon application of the brakes to prevent locking of the wheels (1a, 1b; 4a, 4b), the system comprising a releasing means (12, 13) which releases the driving connection between the front wheel driving system (2) and the rear wheel driving system (5) of the four-wheel drive mechanism, characterized in that the control of the four-wheel drive mechanism comprises a brake application detecting means (11, 11a, 16, 17, 18, 19) for detecting application of the brakes over a predetermined level and activating said releasing means (12, 13) of the four-wheel drive mechanism when the brakes are applied over said predetermined level and the antiskid braking system (14, 15) is actuated only after input of a confirmation signal from the releasing means (12, 13) confirming that the release of the driving connecton is completed.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 186 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 42 words
A brake control system as defined in claim 1, characterized in that said brake application detecting means (11) determines that the brakes are applied over the predetermined level when the brakes are continuously applied for a time longer than a predetermined time.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 39 words
A brake control system as defined in claim 1, characterized in that said brake application detecting means (11) determines that the brakes are applied over the predetermined level when the deceleration of the wheel speed exceeds a predetermined value.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 23 words
A brake control system as defined in claim 3, characterized in that said predetermined value is increased with increase in the vehicle speed.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 27 words
A brake control system as defined in claim 3, characterized in that said predetermined value is reduced as the friction coefficient of the road surface is lowered.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 49 words
A brake control system as defined in claim 1, characterized in that said brake application detecting means (11) determines that the brakes are applied over the predetermined level when the difference between the deceleration of the wheel speed and the deceleration of the vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined value.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 51 words
A brake control system as defined in any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that said releasing means (12, 13) opens the power transmission path (2, 3a, b, 7; 5, 6a, b, 8), of one of the front wheel driving system (2) and the rear wheel driving system (5).
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 21 words
A brake control system as defined in claim 7, characterized in that said releasing means comprises a hydraulic clutch mechanism (45).
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 27 words
A brake control system as defined in claim 7 or 8, characterized in that said releasing means comprises a sleeve (87) and a pair of splines (86).
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 42 words
A brake control systems as defined in any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that said releasing means positively release locking of a center differential (70) intervening between the front wheel system (2) and the rear wheel driving system (5).
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 61 words
A brake control system as defined in any one of claims 1 to 10, characterized in that said antiskid brake system (14,15) calculates the factor of skid of the wheels on the basis of the rotational speed of the front and rear wheels and controls the hydraulic pressure to the brakes based on the factor of skid of the corresponding wheels.
