Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 9
Claim 1
Independent Claim 57 words
A method for preparing modified cellulosic fibers which comprises the steps of reacting cellulosic fibers with N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide by dry weight of said fibers in an aqueous alkaline medium having a pH between 8.5 and 13.5 and a consistency of at least 10% while excluding air and maintaining the temperature of the aqueous medium below its boiling point.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 57 words
A method for preparing modified cellulosic fibers which comprises the steps of reacting cellulosic fibers with N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide by dry weight of said fibers in an aqueous alkaline medium having a pH between 8.5 and 13.5 and a consistency of at least 10% while excluding air and maintaining the temperature of the aqueous medium below its boiling point.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 17 words
The method of claim 1 wherein said fibers are in the form of a slurry or mixture.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 13 words
The method of claim 2 wherein the consistency is between 20 and 45%.
Claim 5
