Abstract

Abstract Control apparatus for a vehicular generator for use in an automobile, etc., in which the temperature of the generator is detected by a sensor 10 so as to control switching means of the voltage regulator 3 to switch the field current of the generator, in accordance with the temperature level of the generator. The generator output is suppressed at low temperature to reduce the torque load imposed by the generator when cold.

Control apparatus for an electrical generator for a vehicle, comprising a voltage regulator (3), characterised in that temperature-sensing means (9,10) are provided for sensing a temperature of the generator, and the voltage regulator (3) is arranged to respond to the sensed temperature so that the generator output current is suppressed when the temperature is low.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 117 words
A control apparatus for a vehicular generator (1) comprising a voltage regulator (3) which includes switching means (304, 305) to switch the field current of the generator, said switching means being controlled on the basis of an output voltage of the generator, characterised in that the apparatus includes temperature level decision means (9) including a temperature detecting device (10) for electrically detecting a temperature of the generator and to decide a temperature value level of the generator as a function of the output of said temperator detecting device, and switching control means (3A, 8) to switch and control said switching means with a predetermined cycle in accordance with an output of said temperature level decision means (9).
Claim 4
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 34 words
A control apparatus for a vehicular generator according to Claim 2, wherein said switching control means is constructed of a fixed duty factor oscillator (8) which generates an output with a predetermined time constant.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 34 words
A control apparatus for a vehicular generator according to Claim 2, wherein said switching control means is constructed of a variable duty factor oscillator (8A) which generator an output with a temperature-dependent time constant.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 71 words
A control apparatus for a vehicular generator according to Claim 2,3 or 4, further including rotational speed level decision means (11) to detect the rotational speed of the generator and to decide a rotational speed level, the switching control means being arranged to switch and control said switching means in a predetermined cycle in accordance with the outputs of said temperature level decision means and said rotational speed level decision means.
Claim 8
