Method of manufacturing an upholstery element and apparatus for carrying out this method
Abstract
A method for producing a cushion element (42, 42 ', 42'',42''') and a device for carrying out this method are described, a casting mold having two mold halves (30, 32) having a rim part (24) over the mold protruding cover (16) is sucked. After the at least one cover (16) has been sucked in, a reaction mixture is introduced into the casting mold through at least one pouring opening (20). After the reaction of the reaction mixture has ended, the two mold halves (30, 32) are separated from one another and the cushion element is removed from the casting mold. The at least one cover (16) with its edge parts (24) is clamped between two clamping frames (14) in such a way that the cover encloses a cavity (18). Then the two clamping frames (14) are clamped between the two mold halves (30, 32) of the casting mold, the mold halves (30, 32) closing off the casting mold with the clamping frame (14). For mechanical stiffening and to reduce the weight of the upholstery element, which is covered on all sides with the cover (16), a body (10) can be arranged in the interior of the upholstery element, which extends with connecting members (12) beyond the outer contour of the upholstery element.
