A method of manufacturing a silicon strain gauge (7b) comprising the steps of; forming an insulating layer (6) on the surface of a monocrystalline silicon substrate (1): forming a thin monocrystalline silicon layer (7b) over the insulating layer (6) isolated from the silicon substrate (1) whereby the thin monocrystalline silicon layer (7b) constitutes a strain gauge.
Claim 6
Independent Claim
56 words
A method of manufacturing a silicon strain gauge (7b) comprising the steps of; forming an insulating layer (6) on the surface of a monocrystalline silicon substrate (1): forming a thin monocrystalline silicon layer (7b) over the insulating layer (6) isolated from the silicon substrate (1) whereby the thin monocrystalline silicon layer (7b) constitutes a strain gauge.
