Lubricant compositions, glucamin derivatives and complex compounds containing them

Abstract Translated from German Zusammensetzungen, enthaltend ein Schmiermittel oder eine Hydraulikflüssigkeit und wenigstens eine Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel I worin n 2, 3 oder 4 ist, X -S-, -0-, -O-CO- oder -CH 2 - ist, R' C 1 -C 22 -Alkyl, C 5 C 6 -Cycloalkyl oder Phenyl bedeutet und R 2 Wasserstoff, C 1 -C 8 -Alkyl, durch eine OH-Gruppe substituiertes C 2 -C 4 -Alkyl oder eine Gruppe -CH 2 -CH(OH)-CH 2 -X-R 1 ist, worin X und R' die angegebene Bedeutung haben, sowie neue Verbindungen der obigen Formel werden beschrieben. Die erfindungsgemässen Glucamin-Derivate der Formel I eignen sich besonders als Verschleissschutzmittel sowie Hochdruckzusätze für mineralische und synthetische Schmieröle und Hydraulikflüssigkeiten, sowie ferner als amphipolare Liganden zur lipophilen Modifizierung von an sich hydrophilen Metallsalzen, Metalloxiden, Metallhydroxiden und Protonensäuren. Die so erhaltenen Komplexverbindungen der Formel worin Mein m-wertiges Kation oder ein Proton, X ein n-wertiges Anion, Z eine Verbindung der Formel (I), Y Wasser oder ein neutrales organisches Molekül, p einen Wert von 0 bis 2, q einen Wert von 1 bis 8, m eine Zahl von 1 bis 6 und n eine Zahl von 1 bis 4 bedeuten, werden ebenfalls beschrieben. Compositions containing a lubricant or a hydraulic fluid and at least one compound of general formula I. wherein n is 2, 3 or 4, X is -S-, -0-, -O-CO- or -CH 2 -, R 'is C 1 -C 22 alkyl, C 5 C 6 cycloalkyl or phenyl and R 2 is hydrogen, C 1 -C 8 alkyl, C 2 -C 4 alkyl substituted by an OH group or a group -CH 2 -CH (OH) -CH 2 -XR 1 , wherein X and R 'are the have the meaning given, and new compounds of the above formula are described. The glucamine derivatives of the formula I according to the invention are particularly suitable as wear protection agents and high-pressure additives for mineral and synthetic lubricating oils and hydraulic fluids, and also as amphipolar ligands for the lipophilic modification of metal salts, metal oxides, metal hydroxides and protonic acids which are inherently hydrophilic. The complex compounds of the formula thus obtained where Mein m-valent cation or a proton, X a n-valent anion, Z a compound of formula (I), Y water or a neutral organic molecule, p a value from 0 to 2, q a value from 1 to 8, m is a number from 1 to 6 and n is a number from 1 to 4 are also described.
