Bidirectional opto-electronic component forming an optical coupler
Abstract
The invention relates to bidirectional fiber optic links: it relates more particularly to an optical coupler between a light emitting diode of emission and a detection photodiode. The optoelectronic component according to the invention comprises a light-emitting diode (2) called LED, encapsulated in a case (19 + 20) of the transistor case type, the cover of which carries a microlens (21), on the optical axis of the case. Inside the housing are integrated: a photodiode - (5), mounted next to the LED (2) and outside the optical axis, a semi-transparent mirror (27) and a mirror support (32) (27 ), this support being machined so as to form a second mirror (28) which reflects the light to be detected towards the detection diode (5). Application to bidirectional optical links, in IT or telephone exchanges.
