Abstract

Abstract @ Within an electronic device having a plurality of circuit parts (7...9) - such as a three-dimensional device - a light transmission system which transfers signals between the circuit parts by the use of light is provided, which is formed of a light emitting source (10, 11) which emits light having a desired wavelength, a photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) which absorbs the light and converts it into an electric signal, and a light travelling part (12, 13) which conveys the light emitted from the light emitting source (10, 11) to the photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15). Each of the light emitting source (10,11), light travelling path (12, 13) and photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) is formed of a superlattice structure in which a plurality of materials of unequal energy gaps are accumulated.

Claim 2
Dependent Claim 149 words
An electronic device having a light transmission system, comprising: a plurality of circuit parts (7...9), a light emitting source (10, 11) which emits light having a desired wavelength and which is provided in at least one of said circuit parts (7...9), a photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) which is provided in at least one of said circuit parts (7...9) in order to absorb the light and to convert it into an electric signal, and a light travelling path (12, 13) which has both its edges connected to said light emitting source (10, 11) and said photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) respectively and which is provided in said circuit parts (7...9), each of said light emitting source (10, 11), said light travelling path (12, 13) and said photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) being formed of a superlattice structure in which a plurality of materials of unequal energy gaps are accumulated.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 52 words
The device of claim 1, wherein said light emitting source (10, 11) emits a plurality of lights having unequal wavelengths, and said photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) is formed so as to absorb the light of an desired wavelength in the plurality of lights emitted by said light emitting source (10, 11).
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 14 words
The device of claim 1 or 2, wherein the materials are GaAs and AlAs.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 63 words
The device of claim 1 or 2, wherein at least a part of said photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) is formed of a light transmitting material, and a wavelength region of light which said photoelectric conversion portion (14, 15) can absorb shifts to a longer wavelength edge as the distance of said photoelectric conversion portion from said light emitting source (10, 11) increases.
Claim 6
Independent Claim 32 words
The device of any of claims 1, 2 and 4, wherein the superlattice structures are formed by successively changing thicknesses of layers of the material of narrower energy gap in the materials.
