The method for treating process wastewaters and waste landfill leachates to remove the objectionable contaminants to produce a liquid discharge capable of being assimulated in the natural environment without adverse effects, which comprises:
Claim 2
Independent Claim 33 words
The method for treating process wastewaters and waste landfill leachates to remove the objectionable contaminants to produce a liquid discharge capable of being assimulated in the natural environment without adverse effects, which comprises:
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 26 words
introducing the wastewater to be treated into an equalization zone to produce a substantially uniform liquid phase composition and to allow for sedimentation of undissolved solids;
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 26 words
introducing the wastewater to be treated into an equalization zone to produce a substantially uniform liquid phase composition and to allow for sedimentation of undissolved solids;
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 39 words
transferring the equalized wastewater to a pretreatment zone, subjecting the said liquid to neutralization and oxidation to cause precipitation of metal hydroxides which adsorbs a portion of organic pollutants, and separating the precipitates so formed from the treated liquid;
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 39 words
transferring the equalized wastewater to a pretreatment zone, subjecting the said liquid to neutralization and oxidation to cause precipitation of metal hydroxides which adsorbs a portion of organic pollutants, and separating the precipitates so formed from the treated liquid;
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 23 words
transferring the pretreated wastewater, produced in Step 2, to a biological treatment zone to remove substantially all biodegrable organic constituents of the wastewater;
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 23 words
transferring the pretreated wastewater, produced in Step 2, to a biological treatment zone to remove substantially all biodegrable organic constituents of the wastewater;
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 26 words
transferring the bio-treated wastewater to a adsorption treatment zone to remove the balance of organic pollutants and to produce a discharge acceptable to the natural environment.
