Abstract
Abstract Skin care compositions having improved resistance to removal by water-exposure are provided by incorporating therein a nonvolatile siloxane having a viscosity of at least 30,000 centipoise. Emulsion compositions are prepared by emulsifying the siloxane in water and mixing the resulting emulsion with one or more skin care components. A volatile siloxane is preferably also incorporated into the skin care composition.

A skin care composition having improved resistance to removal from the skin by water-exposure, said composition comprising an amount of (A) a nonvolatile polydihydrocarbylsiloxane component having a viscosity at 25°C of at least 30 pascal-seconds and (B) one or more skin care components, said amount of the nonvolatile polydihydrocarbylsiloxane component being sufficient to increase the skin-substantivity of at least one of the skin care components.
