Perfluoropolyether compositions

Claim 2

A composition characterized by comprising a perfluoropolyether liquid dispersed in an oil/water (O/W) emulsion or in a water/oil (W/O) emulsion, or in a solid phase able to form a gel, suspended in a liquid organic phase.

Claim 3

A composition as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the O/W emulsion is of the non-ionic or anionic type and in that the W/O emulsion is of the non-ionic type.

Claim 4

A composition as claimed in claim 1, in the form of an ointment or paste, characterized in that the perfluoropolyether is dispersed in hydrogenated castor-oil suspended in a liquid triglycerid.

Claim 5

A composition as claimed in any of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the perfluoropolyether is present in an amount of from 0.05 to 30 parts by weight, preferably 0.2 to 5 parts by weight, for 100 parts by weight of the total sum of the other components.

Claim 6

A composition as claimed in any of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the perfluoropolyether liquid includes repeating units C 2 F 4 0 and/or C 3 F 6 0 or units C 2 F 4 0 and CF 2 0 and optionally C 3 F 6 0, or units C 3 F 6 0 and units CFXO (X = radical F or CF 3 ) statistically distributed along the chain, or includes perfluoro-oxetane units.

Claim 7

A composition as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that the perfluoropolyether is selected from compounds having formulas: a) CF 3 0-(C 3 F 6 0) m (CFXO) n -CF 2 Y where Y is -F or -CF 3 , X is the same as Y, m and n are integers, the m/n ratio is from 5 to 40, and units C 3 F 6 0 and CFXO are statistically distributed along the chain; b) C 3 F 7 O(C 3 F 6 O) m -Rf where Rf = -C 2 F 5 , -C 3 F 7 , or -CFHCF 3 , and m is an integer higher than 2; c ) CF30(C3F60)m(C2F40)n(CFXO)q-CF3 where X = -F or -CF 3 , m, n and q are integers and their sum is from 10 to 300, the ratio n/q is from 0.5 to 5, and the ratio is m/(q+n) is from 0.01 to 0.4, and units C 3 F 6 0, C 2 F 4 O and CFXO are statistically distributed along the chain; d) CF 3 O(C 2 F 4 O) p (CF 2 O) q -CF 3 where p and q are integers the same as or different from each other, and the p/q ratio is from 0.5 to 1.5, and the units are statistically distributed along the chain; e) perfluoropolyethers having an oxetane structure.

Claim 8

A composition as claimed in claim 5, characterized in that one or both end groups of the perfluoropolyether chain consist of polar groups or aromatic rings.

Claim 9

A composition as claimed in any of claims 5 to 7, characterized in that the mean numerical molecular weight of the perfluoropolyether is greater than 500, preferably from 1,000 to 10,000.

Claim 10

A cream, ointment, paste or other formulation for cosmetics and dermatology, characterized by comprising a composition as claimed in any of claims 1 to 8.

Claim 11

The use in the field of cosmetic and dermatologic products of a composition as defined in any of claims 1 to 8.

Claim 12

A process for preparing a cosmetic or dermatologic composition, characterized by comprising dispersing a perfluoropolyether liquid in an oil/water (O/W) emulsion or in a water/oil (W/O) emulsion, or in a solid phase able to form a gel, suspended in a liquid organic phase.

A process for preparing a cosmetic or dermatologic composition, characterized by comprising dispersing a perfluoropolyether liquid in an oil/water (O/W) emulsion or in a water/oil (W/O) emulsion, or in a solid phase able to form a gel, suspended in a liquid organic phase.
