Abstract

A rigid insulating material plate (123) is provided with continuous slots (33) at the future transition points between rigid and flexible parts of the printed circuit board to be manufactured, the ends of which lie within the contour of the plate, but outside future contour lines of the printed circuit board. A flexible insulating material film (121), which carries electrical conductor tracks (24) or a copper foil used to form the same, is attached to one side of the slotted plate (123) and extends over the slots (33). On the opposite side of the plate (123), a dimensionally stable adhesive film (126) and a copper film for the formation of further conductor tracks (27) are also arranged to run over the slots (33). After the outer conductor tracks (24, 27) and the associated bores (29, 30) have been completed, the future printed circuit board is cut along the intended contour lines, the ends of the slots (33) in the rigid insulating material plate (23) being cut off. Finally, the dimensionally stable adhesive film (126) is cut through the slots (33), after which the rigid parts (126 ') covering the flexible film (121) are removed at the locations of the flexible parts of the printed circuit board.
