Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 13
Claim 1
Independent Claim 38 words
A method of dehydrogenating an alkylaromatic compound containing at least two carbon atoms in at least one alkyl group to an alkenylaromatic which comprises contacting the alkylaromatic with a catalyst comprising copper on a support comprising aluminum borate.
Claim 2
Independent Claim 38 words
A method of dehydrogenating an alkylaromatic compound containing at least two carbon atoms in at least one alkyl group to an alkenylaromatic which comprises contacting the alkylaromatic with a catalyst comprising copper on a support comprising aluminum borate.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 22 words
The process of Claim 1 , wherein the alkylaromatic is contacted with the catalyst at a temperature of about 400 to 700°C.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 32 words
The process of Claim 1 or Claim 2, wherein said dehydrogenation is carried out under vapor phase conditions and the alkylaromatic comprises from 4 to 25 volume percent of the gaseous composition.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 33 words
The process of Claim 3, wherein the gaseous material comprises at least one compound selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, steam, alkanes of from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, benzene and toluene.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 20 words
The process of any preceding claim, wherein the catalyst comprises copper on an AI 2 B 4 O 9 .
Claim 7
Dependent Claim 19 words
The process of any of Claims 1 to 4 , wherein the aluminum borate support comprises copper aluminum borate.
Claim 8
Dependent Claim 29 words
The process of any of Claims 1 to 4, wherein the catalyst comprises finely divided copper on an aluminum borate support prepared by the reduction of copper aluminum borate.
Claim 9
Dependent Claim 19 words
The process of Claim 7, wherein the finely divided copper on an aluminum borate support is formed in situ.
Claim 10
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of any of Claims 1 to 8, wherein the alkyl aromatic comprises ethylbenzene.
Claim 11
Dependent Claim 17 words
1 0. The process of any of Claims 1 to 8, wherein the alkyl aromatic comprises cumene.
Claim 12
Dependent Claim 15 words
The process of any of Claims 1 to 8, wherein the alkyl aromatic comprises paraethyltoluene.
