Abstract

Abstract The data processing apparatus has first and second storages (10-1, 10-2) each independently accessible. An instruction unit (1, 2, 3, 4, 8) applies a fetch request on a one-operand instruction to the first storage, and a fetch request on a two-operand instruction to the first and second storages. In case of a fetch request on a two-operand instruction, a storage control unit (19) instructs the instruction unit to produce again a fetch request if one of the first and second storages is busy, and execute reading the operands in the order of decoding instructions.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 5
Claim 1
Independent Claim 157 words
A data processing apparatus for fetching from a storage an operand identified by an instruction comprising: first and second storages (10-1, 10-2) each independently accessible; instruction means (1, 2, 3, 4, 8) for decoding said instruction and outputting, based on whether said instruction is of a one-operand instruction or a two-operand instruction, a fetch request and an operand address for one or both of said storages in the order of decoding instructions, said instruction means applying said operand address to said first storage or said first and second storages; and control means (9) for supervising as to whether said first and second storages are busy or not, and upon reception of said fetch request, transferring a re-request signal to said instruction menas on condition that said first and/or second storage is busy; said instruction means outputting again, in response to said re-request signal from said storage control means, said fetch request in the order of decoding instructions.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 157 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 40 words
A data processing apparatus according to Claim 1, wherein said storage control means includes means for outputting, when said fetch request is to be used for both storages, said re-request signal if at least one of both storages is busy.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 105 words
A data processing apparatus according to Claim 2, wherein said instruction means includes: first hold means (4-1, 38-1-1 to 38-1-4) for holding said fetch request and said operand address for said first storage in the order of decoding instructions; second hold means (4-2, 38-2-1 to 38-2-4) for holding said fetch request and said operand address for said second storage in the order of decoding instructions; and third hold means (45-1, 45-2) for indicating whether said fetch request is for both storages or not; and means (36-1, 36-2) for outputting the contents of said first, second and third hold means in the order of decoding instructions.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 24 words
A data processing apparatus according to Claim 3, wherein said storage control means includes means responsive to the output from said third hold means.
