Die modifizierten Hirundine besitzen die Primärstrucktur des Hirudins, die am N-terminalen Ende um bis zu 2 Aminosäurebausteine und am C-terminalen Ende um bis zu 18 Aminosäurebausteine verkürzt ist. The invention relates to modified hirudins, their production and use for pharmaceutical purposes. The modified hirundins have the primary structure of hirudin, which is shortened by up to 2 amino acid units at the N-terminal end and by up to 18 amino acid units at the C-terminal end. Die modifizierten Hirudine sind zur Hemmung der Blutgerinnung bei Mensch und Säugetier, zur Blutkonservierung und als Reagens zur analytischen Bestimmung von Thrombin brauchbar. The modified hirudins are useful for inhibiting blood clotting in humans and mammals, for blood preservation and as a reagent for the analytical determination of thrombin.
