Abstract
Abstract For disintegration of a concretion (10) which is surrounded by a fluid (14), in particular for disintegration of concretions in living organisms, by means of a light pulse guided via a light guide (3), the light pulse emerging from the light guide is focused in such a way that its energy density exceeds the breakdown threshold of the fluid (14), and the resulting acoustic shock wave is directed at the concretion (10). <IMAGE>
