Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 67 words
A pressure sensitive recording material which comprises a support, a first coating carried on said support, and a second coating carried on said first coating and in which each of said coatings comprises discrete cells that contain a liquid released upon application of pressure, the cells of the second coating but not those of the first having a color former in solution in the liquid contained therein.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 67 words
A pressure sensitive recording material which comprises a support, a first coating carried on said support, and a second coating carried on said first coating and in which each of said coatings comprises discrete cells that contain a liquid released upon application of pressure, the cells of the second coating but not those of the first having a color former in solution in the liquid contained therein.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 32 words
A recording material according to claim 1 wherein the coatings comprise microcapsules constituting said cells, the microcapsules of the first coating being of smaller mean particle size than those of the second.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 24 words
A recording material according to claim 1 or 2 wherein the first coating comprises microcapsules constituting said cells and bound by a latex-derived binder.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 25 words
A recording material according to claim 1, 2 or 3 wherein the second coating, but not the first, comprises parficulate starch or other stilt material.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 24 words
A recording material according to any preceding claim wherein the liquid in at least the cells of the first coating is an aliphatic hydrocarbon.
