Abstract
Abstract There have been prepared paints containing as additives known pharmaceutical products, having such a therapeutic or prophylactic action as to neutralize or prevent the irritating effect of the volatile components of the paints on the respiratory and conjunctival mucosae.The addition is also foreseen of systems of suitably blended and proportioned terpenic substances, so as to impart a pleasant smell to the paints.

Paints according to claim 1, wherein the therapeutic substances capable of neutralizing the irritating effect of the volatile components of the paints are selected from the group constituted by the derivatives of phenylethanolamines, teophylline and its derivatives, tretoquinol, ketotifen, guaiacol, sobrerol, ethyiorthoformate and terpenic active principles.

Paints according to claim 1, wherein the prophylactic substances capable of increasing the immunologic defenses of the organism when they are brought into contact with the mucosae, are selected from the group constituted by cromoglycic acid and its derivatives, oxatomide, atemizole, fenspiride, beclomethasone, and lodoxamide.

Paints according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the terpenic substances are selected from the group constituted by terpineol, linalol, eugenol, isoeugenol, benzyiisoeugenol, genaniol, rhodinol, bomeol, tetrahydrolinalol, citronellol, nerol, carvol, famesol, safrole, thymol and anethole.
