Claim 1
Independent Claim
107 words
A radio paging system comprising: an encoder producing after a first code a string of address code and message code which follows said address code, and producing a string of information codes after a second code; a transmitter for transmitting a string of codes produced by said encoder; and a paging receiver with a display for receiving the transmitted codes, upon detection of said first code, producing an alert and displaying the message codes only when said address signal which follows said first code is identical with a particular address code and, upon detection of said second code, displaying the information codes which follow said second code.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
30 words
A radio paging system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said first and second codes are synchronizing codes which are different from each other and are used for word synchronization.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
117 words
A radio paging receiver having a memory in which a particular address code is stored and adapted to receive a string of codes in which a string of address code and message code which follows the address code is arranged after a first code and information codes are arranged after a second code, said paging receiver comprising: detector means for individually detecting said first and second codes out of the received code string; and display means for, upon detection of said first code and agreement of the address code with the particular address code stored in the memory, producing an alert and displaying the message code and, upon detection of said second code, displaying the information codes.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
117 words
A radio paging receiver having a memory in which a particular address code is stored and adapted to receive a string of codes in which a string of address code and message code which follows the address code is arranged after a first code and information codes are arranged after a second code, said paging receiver comprising: detector means for individually detecting said first and second codes out of the received code string; and display means for, upon detection of said first code and agreement of the address code with the particular address code stored in the memory, producing an alert and displaying the message code and, upon detection of said second code, displaying the information codes.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim
29 words
A radio paging receiver as claimed in claim 3, wherein said first and second codes are synchronizing codes which are different from each other and used for word synchronization.
Claim 7
Dependent Claim
138 words
In a radio paging system having transmitter means which is constructed to transmit after a first one of the synchronizing signals a plurality of groups made up of address signals or message signals, and to transmit information signals after a second one of the synchronizing signals, and receiver means which intermittently supplies power to a receiving section until the synchronizing signal is detected: said receiver means being constructed to, upon detection of said first synchronizing signal, supply power to said receiving section only at a transmission timing assigned to one of said groups to which the receiver means belongs, detect an address signal and then a message signal, and display the message signal and, upon detection of said second synchronizing signal, continuously supply power to said receiving section to receive an information signal and display the information signal.
Claim 8
Claim 9
Dependent Claim
180 words
In a radio paging system having transmitter means which is constructed to transmit after a first one of the synchronizing signals a plurality of groups made up of address signals or message signals which belong to one of a plurality of groups and, after a second one of the synchronizing signals, a string of signals made up of non-grouped address signals or message signals, and receiver means which selectively receives radio signals from the transmitter means by intermittently supplying power to its receiving section until the synchronizing signal is detected: said receiver means being constructed to, upon detection of the first synchronizing signal, supply power to the receiving section only at a transmission timing of the group to which the receiver means belongs so as to detect the grouped address signal and, thereafter, receive a message signal while displaying a content of the message and, upon detection of the second synchronizing signal, continuously supply power to the receiving section so as to detect the non-grouped address signal and, thereafter, receive a message signal while displaying a content of the message.
