Abstract
Abstract With the proposed manufacturing process the apparatus is coded before delivery. The base units and the detachable units are first manufactured separately, the individual data for an apparatus being stored in a memory (17) of the base unit (10). When the base unit and the individual detachable units (11) are first connected together, the data are automatically retrieved and written into a memory (29) of the detachable units. Examples of individual data are the apparatus number, apparatus options and the like. <IMAGE>
