Residual value marking credit card and machine with marking device for this card
Abstract
Abstract A credit card (1) can be used for executing transactions of one or more automatic machines until the sum of the values of the executed transactions reaches a total value (100) provided for the credit card (1). The card (1) has a scale (2), the length of which corresponds to the total value (100), and parallel to the scale (2) there is a marking zone (3), the surface of which can be permanently and visibly changed to a locally limited extent by the passage of a current. In the automatic machine, when the card is being inserted and returned, there run on this marking zone (3) a narrow and a wide contact roller (21, 22) which are connected to a current source (23) for part of the card return, in order to mark on the marking zone (3), by the passage of current on the narrow contact roller (21), a zone which commences next to the scale end (100), runs in the direction (6) of decreasing scale values and, whenever the card (1) is used, is lengthened according to the value of the transaction just executed, so that the still available residual value of the card can be read off on the scale (2) near the end (8) of the marking (4). <IMAGE>
