Abstract
Abstract A hair relaxer or straightener composition is provided comprising in an aqueous medium a sulfite reducing agent in combination with urea, a quaternary ammonium compound and a buffering agent. The hair relaxing composition is used in a two stage method in conjunction with a neutralizer to impart a permanent configuration to hair.
