Abstract Translated from German Neue, ionisch modifizierte, a-glykosidisch verknüpfte Polysaccharide, deren ionische Bestandteile über die Gruppierung der Formel -CO-NH-CH 2 -O-an den Polysaccharidbestandteil gebunden, wobei die Carbonylgruppe mit dem ionischen Bestandteil und das Sauerstoffatom mit dem Polysaccharidbestandteil verbunden sind, werden durch Umsetzen der Polysaccharide mit N-Methylolamidgruppen aufweisenden Verbindungen hergestellt und zum Reinigen von Abwässern und vor allem zum chromatographischen Trennen von ionische Komponenten enthaltenden Substanzgemischen verwendet. New, ionically modified, a-glycosidically linked polysaccharides, the ionic components of which are bonded to the polysaccharide component via the grouping of the formula -CO-NH-CH 2 -O-, the carbonyl group being linked to the ionic component and the oxygen atom being linked to the polysaccharide component, are produced by reacting the polysaccharides with compounds containing N-methylolamide groups and are used for the purification of waste water and especially for the chromatographic separation of mixtures of substances containing ionic components.
