Document image editing device

Claim 1

A document image editing device comprising: document providing means (3, 4, 5) for providing documents to be edited having partial images to be cut; a first memory area (6a) adapted for storing the documents to be edited provided by said document providing means, and a page memory device (6) having a second memory area (6b) adapted for storing partial images cut from the documents to be edited, and a third memory area (6c) adapted for storing information of a pasteboard on which the partial images are pasted; a display device (7, 7a) having a first display region (7A) adapted for individual displaying the documents to be edited, as stored in said first memory area, and a further display region (7D) adapted for displaying a pasteboard image which is stored in said third memory area of said page memory device and on which the partial images are to be pasted; output means (3, 8) for outputting the pasteboard image information stored in said third memory area (6c) of said page memory device; region designating means (9, 9a) for enabling an operator to designate a region of a partial image to be cut in the document displayed in said first display region (7A) of said display device (7); and a processing unit (1, 2), responsive to said region designating means (9, 9a), for transferring, in a cutting mode of editing processing, image information of the designated partial image region in said first display region (7A) of said display device (7), from said first memory area (6a) to said second memory area (6b) and for transferring, in a pasting mode, image information from said second memory area (6b) of said page memory device (6) to said third memory area (6c) of said memory device (6), characterised in that: the first memory area (6a) is an area of the said page memory device (6); the display device has a second display region (7B) adapted for displaying partial images stored in said second memory area (6b) and cut from the documents displayed in said first display region (7A), the said further display region (7D) being a third display region of the said display device; the region designating means (9, 9a) is also for enabling an operator to designate a region in said second display region (7B) in which the partial image cut from a document displayed in said first display region (7A) is to be displayed, to designate among the partial images displayed in said second display region the partial image to be pasted in said third display region and a region for pasting the partial image in said third display region (7D); the location of said second memory area (6b) to which the designated partial image information is transferred, in the cutting mode, corresponds to the designated region in said second display region (7B); the said image information transferred to said third memory area (6c), in the pasting mode, is that displayed and designated in said second display region (7B); and the location of said third memory area (6c) to which the information to be pasted is transferred is that which corresponds to the designated pasting region in said third display region (7D) of said display device.
